I (Kat) take the concept of ethics very seriously.

To that end, I promise:

  • To avoid any instruction or service that might facilitate plagiarism, either intentionally or unintentionally, as I navigate students through the college essay writing process;

  • To provide quality guidance that meets the individual needs of every student;

  • To honor the inherent worth and dignity of every student (and parent) who works with me; and,

  • To continually educate myself on best practices and professional news so as to give my clients the most up-to-date, trustworthy information.

By choosing to work with me, you (student and parent) hereby promise:

  • That the student who is applying to college—and that student alone—is the author of all writing to be submitted as the “college essay” and any other responses required or requested by the university/universities to which said student is applying;

  • To treat me (Kat) with respect and not expect or request assistance that might facilitate plagiarism or be considered an unfair advantage; and,

  • Should you have a concern or complaint, to respectfully bring it directly to me (Kat) so we can resolve it together. Direct communication that avoids triangulation honors all parties involved.

Rescheduling

This section regarding rescheduling applies to individual course sessions and meetings only; it does not apply to group course sessions.

Students must reschedule at least 48 hours in advance in order to allow Kat to offer the time to other students.

If a student must reschedule fewer than 48 hours in advance, the student must contact Kat via email or phone call to do so, at which point Kat will determine her availability for the student’s session. Please realize Kat may not be able to fit the student in that same week. If it is a true emergency or sudden illness, kindly email or call Kat as soon as possible to explain the situation. In this case, rescheduling the appointment is at the discretion of Kat and her availability.

Should Kat have to reschedule due to an emergency, she will email and/or call the student and parent with as much advance notice as possible.

Late arrivals to group course sessions

Students arriving late to group course sessions should enter quietly and get situated as quickly as possible. Kat will not reteach any missed material, but she will attempt to bring the latecomer up to speed as much as possible, as long as it is not to the detriment of the other students.

If a student should miss the entire session with no prior notice, called a no-show, the student should contact Kat as soon as possible via email or phone call. If there is room in another session, Kat may offer a spot to the student. Otherwise, Kat will attempt to cover the basic information necessary for the student to proceed in the process; however, Kat will not cover the entirety of the two-hour/two-and-a-half-hour session’s information with the student.

Should Kat be late to a group course session due to unforeseen circumstances, the session will go beyond the scheduled time by the number of minutes Kat was late.

Late arrivals to individual sessions and meetings

No extra time will be added to the meeting time if a student is late.

If a student should miss the entire session with no prior notice, called a no-show, a $50 no-show fee will be applied to the credit card used to purchase the course package.

Should Kat be late to an individual session/meeting due to unforeseen circumstances, the session/meeting will go beyond the scheduled time by the number of minutes Kat was late, as long as all parties are in agreement. Should one or both parties not be able to stay past the original scheduled time, another meeting lasting the number of minutes to be recouped will be scheduled at a time amenable to both parties.

No refunds will be given. All purchases are final.
